Dental Phobia

Caring for nervous dental patients in Heswall, Wirral

It is well known that prevention is better than cure and this starts with good oral hygiene and regular dental visits to ensure that optimal oral health is achieved and maintained. However for nervous patients we are well aware that a visit to the dentist may not be that simple and that failure to treat a small problem may lead to something much larger!

Good communication is essential and we will discuss any concerns, fears and anxieties that you may have at your initial appointment. This allows us to ensure your time with us is as stress free as possible.

How to de-stress your dental experience

  • Please arrive in plenty of time for your appointment as arriving late may cause you unnecessary stress.
  • Please feel free to bring your own music.
  • An Ipod/MP3 player can be a great help.
  • Wear loose comfortable clothing

How we can help

A significant amount of stress and anxiety can be alleviated by keeping you fully informed about what you are likely to experience during your visit.

  • We will usually give you a running commentary about what sight and sounds you are likely to expect and how long each part of your treatment will last. Of course not everyone wants to know exactly what is happening and herein lies the importance of developing a working relationship so we can tailor your experience precisely to your needs.
